Blueair Blue Pure 511i Max
This is a documentation review of the Blue Pure 511i Max, built from Blueair's own US product page, its replacement-filter listings and the public review feed on that page, all checked October 13, 2026. On paper it is the easiest of the three bedroom purifiers we graded to live with: 4.2 lb, 14.5 inches tall, 17 watts at full tilt, a Night mode, and a spec row that puts the sound floor at 19 dB. Blueair publishes all three CADR numbers (pollen 174, dust 159, smoke 153 cfm) and a recommended room size of 237 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour, which is the honest way to state coverage. Two things keep the score down. The page contradicts itself on the noise ceiling, giving 42 dB in the marketing copy and 19 to 48 db in the spec table. And the standard warranty is one year unless you register, which Blueair asks you to do to reach three. Nothing here is medical advice, and no air purifier treats a sleep disorder or asthma.
Why we rate it
- Lowest published running cost in this group: 17 watts at maximum, and one filter rated up to nine months at $29.99
- Published CADR for all three AHAM pollutants (pollen 174, dust 159, smoke 153 cfm) plus a 237 sq ft room size at 4.8 air changes per hour
- Quietest sound floor of the three at 19 dB, with a dedicated Night mode and a six-position speed control
Keep in mind
- Blueair's own page gives two different noise ceilings: 42 dB in the body copy, 19 to 48 db in the specification table
